Physicians Health Plan

Founded in 1983, Physicians Health Plan of Northern Indiana, Inc., is a physician-sponsored not-for-profit health maintenance organization focused on preserving the community’s access to quality, low cost medical and dental insurance.  More than twenty years later, Physicians Health Plan remains locally sponsored and governed by area doctors and business representatives that are committed to supporting the patient/physician relationship and wellness healthcare options for better health choices.

Freedom to Choose

As a not-for-profit and physician governed organization, Physicians Health Plan focuses on supporting the patient/physician relationship for better health. We provide our members open access to over 2,000 network providers including doctors, dentists, hospitals and medical facilities. This means our members choose the healthcare provider they want to see, from Primary Care to Specialists, without any special arrangements through the Plan.

Customer Satisfaction

Physicians Health Plan has earned a reputation for outstanding customer satisfaction among employers, employees, and their families.  Physicians Health Plan members are more satisfied with their overall healthcare and health plan than the average national consumers surveyed. This shows that employers, employees, and their dependents can expect and will receive high quality service from Physicians Health Plan. Our goal is to simplify the otherwise complex issues of healthcare administration and we encourage members to call our Customer Service staff when they have a question or concern.

Preventive Healthcare

Our members benefit through coverage of tests and screenings, various discounts, and educational literature. Coverage includes mammograms, paps, immunizations, well baby care, colorectal and prostate screenings, and much more. Discounts are available at organizations such as the YMCA and the American Red Cross. And, check out copies of our quarterly newsletter “HealthNEWS” or our Health Resources page for educational information right here on our Web site! These are just a few of the programs that make PHP the number one choice for wellness and health.
